SMS Environmental, a UK industry leading water hygiene services provider, celebrates its 20th anniversary since the inception of the company in 2001. This celebration marks two successful decades of innovation, growth, commitment and transparency to offer the very best water services to customers across the United Kingdom.
For the past 20 years, SMS has strived for excellence in the industry, providing UK businesses with quality services through the transformative application of competence. To replace traditional methods of building and facilities management, SMS developed Opuz, a unique full CAFM software solution which has been adapted and enhanced over the years in response to customers’ evolving business expectations and regulatory demands. Opuz is now a market leading certified system, used by a number of high profile companies and organisations across the UK.
John Sandford, CMIOSH Director for SMS Environmental reflected on the company’s 20th anniversary by saying, “We started this company with the intention of being the best in the industry. There was far too much being hidden and not enough focus on being open, honest and transparent. One of SMS’s core values is clarity, specifically the clarity of the information provided and the visibility of the work SMS carries out. Many companies claim to provide this, but at SMS we actually prove that we do, that’s just one thing that sets us apart from so many other companies in the industry”.
To celebrate 20 years of success, SMS announced the launch of its new brand identity by the introduction of a set of core values that signifies how they are committed to reducing client risk, supporting their understanding and giving reassurance on the basis of clear thinking, visibility of their actions, expertise and innovation. These values serve as an example to inspire, shape and influence the water hygiene industry and improve outcomes globally.
