SMS Environmental's Offices Unveil Life-Saving Defibrillator in Partnership with British Heart Foundation
Here at SMS Environmental, the safety and well-being of our team members and visitors is of utmost importance to us. That is why we are pleased to announce that defibrillators have now arrived at our Derby and Harwell offices. And they have all been checked and set up in case of an emergency.
The iPad SP1 Fully Automatic Defibrillator, featuring an unlocked internal cabinet, is easily accessible in case of emergencies and can be operated by anyone in the vicinity of our offices. Each defibrillator will be registered with 'the circuit' in due course, ensuring seamless integration with the local ambulance service and enabling easy location by the general public when needed.
In addition to setting up the defibrillators, we are also calling for our teams to take part in British Heart Foundation's online course on how to use a defibrillator and perform CPR. The course, called RevivR™, is designed to teach individuals how to respond to a cardiac arrest situation quickly and effectively.
The best part about the RevivR™ course is that it only takes 15 minutes to complete and is completely free of charge to take up. By completing this course, our employees have gained valuable knowledge on how to save a life in case of a cardiac emergency.
Where Can You Find It?
As explained above, our Harwell and Derby offices are now equipped with a defibrillator, within the cabinet provided which is alarmed but not locked for easy access. Our Glasgow and Cardiff offices will also be following suit very soon!
Our specific details have been added to the registration, stating that the defibrillators are accessible Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4pm. However, please note that they will not be accessible on weekends, bank holidays, or between Christmas and New Year.
For those needing to access a defibrillator during our office hours, information on where the intercom is located to contact us has been provided.
Having access to a defibrillator and being trained in how to use it can make a life-saving difference in the event of a cardiac emergency. I highly recommend taking part in courses like the British Heart Foundation's ReviveR programme to ensure you are prepared to act quickly and effectively when someone's life is on the line.

We are committed to ensuring the safety of our employees and clients, and having a defibrillator on site is just one of the many ways in which we are taking proactive steps in this regard. We encourage other businesses to consider investing in a defibrillator and training their staff on how to use it effectively.
